Non surgical and minimally invasive options for fat reduction include technology that uses heat or cooling or an injected medication to reduce fat cells. While none of these treatments are a replacement for liposuction, they provide options for patients unwilling or unable to undergo surgery. Non-surgical fat reduction options use a variety of modalities, including ultrasound, radio frequency, infrared light, vacuum massage and injectable medication. Here in Vivardi Clinics, we use injectable methods :
WHAT IS AQUALYX ?
AQUALYX is a solution that contains deoxycholic acid, a substance that is naturally found in the body and is involved in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into fatty tissues, Aqualyx works by disrupting the fat cells membranes, causing them to break down. The fatty content is then released and metabolized by the body’s natural processes, ultimately being excreted by the lymphatic system .
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
INJECTION PROCESS : Aqualyx is administered through a series of small injections directly into the targeted fat deposit area. The procedure typically involves multiple injection points depending on the size and shape of the area being treated.
MECHANISM OF ACTION : Once injected, Aqualyx binds to the fatty tissue and starts to work on breaking down the fat cell’s membranes . This process ,called adipocytolysis, causes the fat cells to become unstable and release their contents.
FAT REDUCTION : Over the next few weeks, the body naturally metabolizes the released fat, gradually reducing the size of the fat deposit. The effect is a more contoured and slimmer appearance in the treated area.

AREAS OF TREATMENT :
AQUALYX can be used to treat various areas of the body where stubborn fat deposits are found, including :
- Waist
- Double chin (submental fat)
- Back fat
- Love Handles
- Stomach
- Armpits
- Buttocks
- Hips
- Thighs
- Back (bra rolls)
ADVANTAGES OF THIS TREATMENT :
- Minimally invasive
- No downtime
- Non surgical fat reduction
- Targeted fat reduction

RECOVERY PHASE :
The recovery period after aqualyx treatment is generally short and involves minimal downtime, but it can vary depending on the individual and the area treated.
Here’s a brief overview of the recovery period for Aqualyx treatment :
Immediate Post-Treatment : Some swelling, redness, and bruising may occur at the injection site.
Downtime : Minimal, with most patients returning to normal activities immediately.
Swelling Duration : Swelling typically lasts for a few days, up to a week.
Bruising Duration : Bruising may take a few days to a couple of weeks to resolve.
Pain or Discomfort : Mild discomfort or tenderness can last for a few days after treatment.
Final results : Gradual improvement over 6-8 weeks as the body processes the dissolved fat.
Multiple Sessions : Typically requires 2-4 sessions for optimal results, spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
Overall, the recovery time is minimal, and patients can usually resume their daily activities shortly after the procedure.
BEFORE AFTER PROCEDURE :

A consultation with the doctor will help determine the exact number of sessions needed based on individual needs and expectations. Overall, while multiple sessions are often needed for optimal results, the exact number of sessions varies for each person.
