Laser therapy has been shown to effectively treat hyperpigmentation for all skin types and tones. Pigment lasers can also remove tattoos, moles, or birthmarks.

What is involved in a laser treatment?

Your face will be cleansed then laser passed through few times on the face which peels off the pigments on the skin. There may be some redness, darkening of pigment spots, flaking and crusting on the skin after treatment. There might be some mild peeling and dryness post laser and aftercare will need to be adhered to including the use of a suitable moisturiser and sunscreen.

How many treatments needed?

Number of treatments depends on several factors like the pigmentation nature, type, duration, size and skin condition too. Superficial pigmentations like freckles, sun spots and age spots are easily removed with 1-2 sessions. Chronic pigmentation such as melasma or birthmarks require several sessions complemented with good after skincare would maintain flawless skin.
