Pigmentation and acne scars are two of the most common skin concerns, and both can be stubborn to treat. Pico laser has become a popular, effective option for improving them. At Vivardi Clinics in Rawang, Selangor, our doctors use Pico laser to target pigment and support smoother, clearer skin.
What is Pico laser?
Pico laser delivers energy in extremely short pulses, measured in picoseconds. These rapid pulses break pigment into tiny particles that the body can clear naturally, while being gentler on the surrounding skin than older lasers. The same technology also helps stimulate the skin, which supports texture and the appearance of scars.
How it helps pigmentation
For dark spots, sunspots and uneven tone, Pico laser breaks down the excess pigment so it can fade over a course of sessions. Because our climate makes pigmentation very common, this is one of the most requested uses. For conditions like melasma, the approach is gentler and combined with strict sun protection, since melasma can return if skin is not protected.
How it helps acne scars
Acne scars and uneven texture can be improved as the laser encourages the skin to renew and smooth over time. Results build gradually across sessions, which is why a tailored plan matters. Pico laser is often part of a wider approach to clearer, smoother skin.
Why assessment matters
Pigmentation has different types, and treating the wrong way can sometimes worsen it. A doctor-led assessment ensures the right settings and plan for your skin, which is safer and more effective.
