Stubborn pockets of fat that will not shift despite diet and exercise are a common frustration. Mesolipolysis, also known as fat-dissolving injections, offers a non-surgical way to target these areas. At Vivardi Clinics in Rawang, Selangor, our doctors use this treatment to help reduce localised fat for a smoother contour.
What is mesolipolysis?
Mesolipolysis is a treatment that uses injections to break down small, stubborn deposits of fat. The solution is injected into the target area, where it helps dissolve fat cells so the body can clear them naturally over time. Because it is non-surgical, there is no cutting and no general anaesthetic, which makes it appealing for small, defined areas.
What areas can it target?
It is typically used for smaller, localised pockets of fat that resist diet and exercise, such as under the chin or other defined areas. It is not a weight loss treatment for the whole body, but a way to refine specific areas. An assessment confirms whether your concern is suitable for this approach.
Setting the right expectations
Mesolipolysis works best for stubborn fat in someone who is already at a relatively stable weight, rather than as a substitute for overall weight management. Results build gradually over a course of sessions as the body clears the treated fat. Your doctor will explain what is realistic for your area of concern.
Other options to consider
Depending on your goals, there may be other suitable approaches. If you are exploring body contouring, our guide on reducing body fat without surgery is a helpful read, and you can browse related options on our aesthetic treatments page.
