You will see both terms used. An STI (sexually transmitted infection) is the infection itself, which may or may not cause symptoms, while an STD (sexually transmitted disease) refers to an infection that has started to cause problems. In everyday use they mean much the same thing, and our screening covers both, whether or not you have symptoms.
